This documentary ties to capture "Laulupidu", which to Estonians
is much more than a choral festival.
"To Breathe As One" explores the festival's beauty and meaning
through the eyes of two conductors, American Bob Geary and
Estonian Aarne Saluveer, as well as the young members of the
California-based Piedmont East Bay Children's Choir, who set
out not knowing much about Estonia. Yet it doesn’t take them
long to understand that this is about much more than just
a big concert: it is an integral force in maintaining strength
and identity for a people who have faced cultural genocide
more than once. "Despite not being an Estonian, I felt like
one", says one the American youngsters.
